Freeride Mekka

"Easy up - Wild down“, that’s the way it goes.

The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn offers a range of freeriding as one combined package, with extensive freeride routes of all difficulty levels, as well as freeride parks, info points, a self developed snow information and avalanche warning system (LO.LA*), avalanche beacon training parks & checkpoints powered by ORTOVOX, camps, and top events such as the “Freeride World Tour”. Enough to excite not just the elite, but also those new to the sport who want to have a taste of the world of powder skiing.

The flanks of the 2,119 m Wildseeloder were discovered by the up-and-coming freeriding scene some years ago. Fieberbrunn has ideal conditions: on the one hand a ski area with wild contours, but on the other hand extensive powder slopes. There are also no long walks to access the freeriding terrain, it’s a question of simply “easy up & wild down”. It’s not for nothing that the “Freeride World Tour” has appointed Fieberbrunn to being known as an European competition hotspot, and incidentally the only venue in all German-speaking countries.

Local avalanche warning system

Taking the lift, or sometimes a short hike in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, brings you very easily into un-secured, un-patrolled terrain. Despite the huge attraction, it is important that the dangers of a high Alpine environment are considered when freeriding. Those who leave the safety of the secured pistes are taking on the responsibility for their own safety.

Therefore, comprehensive training about off-piste skiing is essential. The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn stages various camps and workshops, and local ski schools and mountain guides have offers available for freeriders of any age and ability with all sorts of opportunities to prepare yourself for offpiste adventures.
