In a designated area at the Asitzmuldenbahn in Leogang there are various obstacles and kickers integrated into the natural terrain, providing lots of fun on deep snow slopes.
Freeride routes are well-marked descents that are partially off slope. Some ski slopes are also marked in places as freeride routes as these slopes are not prepared for several days following a fresh snowfall.
Avalanche Beacon Training Parks:
You can find avalanche beacon training parks for practising with your own avalanche beacon at the peak of the Schattberg in Saalbach and at the Zillstatt lift in Fieberbrunn. You have to activate up to four of the six buried transmitters in order to track and probe them within a given period of time with your own avalanche beacon.
There is a so-called info point at the bottom station of the Streuböden lift in Fieberbrunn, with the avalanche warning system LO.LA* as well as information and overview maps to help when planning tours.
Avalanche beacon Checkpoints:
Throughout the skiing area you find avalanche beacon checkpoints at many key mountain stations. By passing the checkpoints every freerider can easily test whether the life-saving device is turned on and sending out signals.
