Successful crowdfunding

At the beginning of April, Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn not only ended a successful winter season, but also a 33-year era: after over 23 million transports, the Streuböden and Lärchfilzkogel group lifts were given a well-deserved retirement. Construction work on the new, modern monocable gondola lift has already begun and is a joint project with locals and guests thanks to crowdfunding.

Admittedly, it was an end of season that was somewhat melancholy: the red eye-catching gondolas of the Streuböden lift have been in tireless use since 1991. The lifts accompanied countless people through their childhood and youth. An emotional bond that prompted many to contribute financially to the new construction and thus be an active part of a local mega-project.

Fieberbrunn's new Streuböden lift: innovation, heart & public participation

The crowdfunding participation campaign initiated for the new construction was a complete success and makes the new, modern Doppelmayr lift a community project: "More than 200 supporters decided to participate in the new construction project through the crowdfunding participation campaign with a support sum of around € 600,000 and received vouchers of 15% on top," reports Bergbahnen Managing Director Sebastian Schwaiger proudly. With this positive tailwind, the company is confidently embarking on a long-awaited project close to its heart. After all, the new lift will offer more comfort and quality, a better view, with reduced travel time and without having to change lifts, synonymous with an attractive summer and winter offer and an investment in the tourism competitiveness of the village and the region.

Construction summer 2024

The cable cars in Fieberbrunn will not be in operation in summer 2024 due to the new construction. Nevertheless, all locals and guests can look forward to an attractive and eventful offer on the mountain, which is provided by the Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn and the PillerseeTal tourism association. Timok's Wild World is open from 17 May to 27 October 2024 and can be reached on foot or by bike via Zillstatt, Schweinestberg (only in summer 2024) or Brendt. From June 28 to September 8, 2024, a shuttle service will be offered from the valley station. The hiking trails and via ferratas around the Wildseeloder are also open, as are the restaurants on the mountain. Construction site-related detours are signposted. For bikers, the Schweinestberg Trails I+II are open and accessible via the Uphill Bike Tour. And then, just in time for the start of the new winter season: Hello, new Streubödenbahn, hello new skiing fun!
